I've actually noticed that many blogs have started using contests to attract commentator participation and I think it's a win-win situation. Definitely. My fellow blogger friend Marcus Hochstadt gave away a free website review to one of his top commentator. So I definitely think this is the way to go.

This post struck a chord because we actually did this very thing in December. We had an iPod touch giveaway for taking part in a very short survey. We reached out a several bloggers in our niche to participate and post about the contest. It worked pretty well - not only was the survey participation excellent (not to mention the blogger participation), but we got lots of inbound links as well.
