AuctionLogic eBay Inventory & Listing Management Solution – Now Integrated with UPS Worldship

May 25, 2008 by admin · Leave a Comment

UPS Worldship Integration

UPS Logo AuctionLogic is now fully integrated with UPS Worldship providing a streamlined shipping processes for those who currently have a daily UPS pickup.

All items awaiting shipment can easily be exported from AuctionLogic and imported into UPS Worldship. Once shipped, users can then export the shipping data back to AuctionLogic in order to update tracking numbers for internal package tracking and complete cost reporting.

This recent upgrade is just one of many which will be added to AuctionLogic courtesy of the programmers and engineers at AuctionSound. We look forward to announcing in the near future a multi-channel capability we know every eBay merchant will appreciate.

Adding Multi-Channel capabilities to our already robust eBay business class inventory and listing management suite is the next logical step. Plans to expand capabilities beyond multi-channel are in motion, but until this major upgrade is complete we will have to simply be satisfied with revealing this major UPS WordShip improvment.

Is eBay messing with your seller experience!

  • DSR’s getting you down?

  • Best Match Confusing?

  • Has your eBay Seller experience gone “As Expected”?

You are not Alone!

eBay has initiated numerous radical changes in the last several months and you are not the only one trying to keep up! The good people at PESA and ECMTA (Professional eBay Sellers Alliance and E Commerce Merchants Trade Association) discuss matters like this with the members of the two associations on a regular basis. They figure that many members trying to find a clear path forward is more productive than one eBay seller trying to do it on their own. Read more

eBay eCommerce Blogging or Affiliate Sales Why not All of the Above?

March 13, 2008 by Scott Pooler · Leave a Comment

Do you have your own off eBay website?

As an eBay seller you know you should have your own website but for some unknown reason our research indicates that most eBay sellers do not. Why?

If it is because you do not have the time to set up another high maintenance difficult to control Internet presence… You may not be aware of all of the new and interesting ways to get online with your own name and brand while not having to maintain that online portal each and every day.

A website can be thought of as a more difficult animal to manage than an eBay store or auction listing business. In reality the maintenance is much lower while sometimes the cost to get started can be a bit higher. Continuing costs of a website versus an eBay business are completely different however and by an almost universal consensus the stand alone website will win the cost to maintain battle every time.

So, why eBay? Because with the massive traffic generation provided by the huge amount of inbound links and the pure enormity of eBay a seller can have a higher percentage chance of making a sale on eBay than on a stand alone website.

What if you want a website and the traffic of eBay but you do not have enough source of supply to populate your own eCommerce site to compete with the massive lists of products found on eBay or Amazon? We think you could be quite happy with the following solution.

One particularly interesting method of populating an off eBay website which will not simply promote your brand and your eBay items but also will pay you back and run on autopilot. Is to install phpBay Pro on an existing or new php based website or Wordpress CMS site.

phpBay Pro (See Link in the Sidebar) is an Ebay software script available as a plugin for Wordpress or as an API (application programming interface) for php driven web sites. It’s built for simplicity, meaning that you can have it up and running in just a matter of minutes. Both versions come with documentation.
Ebay Affiliate Software

phpBay Pro enables web publishers to quickly and easily add keyword rich eBay auction listings to your Wordpress or php driven site to generate serious affiliate revenue in a matter of minutes!

What this means to those who may not be aware of the terminology used in the phpBay Pro company literature is…

With phpBay Pro any website can import any eBay listing category, store, or keyword group directly into a stand alone website or Wordpress based self hosted blog. When the owner of such a website signs up as an eBay affiliate at Commission Junction, the resulting traffic directed to eBay from these listings inserted into any own website or blog will generate 24 hour a day revenue for that site. Those same listing imported into your off eBay website add constantly updating and new content to that site. For SEO this is a great advantage. Your site can be relatively static, yet always have new listings imported providing recent and relevant content for search engine spiders to chew upon.

These imported listings can be from your own store, your favorite category, or of the best items from eBay’s hot list. The best part is that the imported listings will look as though they are designed as part of your original website. It won’t look like some eBay generated widget or html builder import. Well, actually… the best thing is that as the website owner you can make money on any item sold via your listings imported from eBay and you will not have to ship or stock or inventory any of them.

Check Out phpBay Pro – Follow that link below…. Tell em the All Business Auctions sent you! Or give us a call, we use phpBay Pro ourselves and would be happy to help you set up a website which can take advantage of this technology. We will insert eBay live listings with phpBay to a new site which could also contain not only your eBay listings from an existing eBay store but also have a page of eBay listings from other sellers stores (a great way to test niche’s) and also have a web 2.0 style blog attached to build a sense of community with your buyers. The options are endless!

What should you sell on eBay – The most watched item on eBay, a clue? Kekoa64

January 10, 2008 by Scott Pooler · 2 Comments

Update: The seller described in this article (Kekoa64)

Is no longer a registered member of eBay. Sources indicate the reason for his listings popularity related to a hack of the eBay Pulse most watched items list… We will leave the original article below, but please do not follow this young mans example and try to game the system. (Read more about this deception here: Trading Assistant Journal )

******************************************************************************

If you were to try and source a product to sell on eBay, what would you look for?

  • Something you know?
  • Something you can buy cheap?
  • Items at a garage sale?
  • Merchandise imported by container full from china with questionable branding and associated return nightmares?

Seriously, these are a few of the numerous opinions offered by a bevy of self appointed eBay “experts”…

So… Whats the plan? How do you find something to sell on eBay? How do you find a hot niche, a repeatable product with little risk of warranty problems and a high rate of return?

You can do some research… on eBay, on Terapeak, even via Google… All good ideas and great places to look…

Or….

You can do what this young man in Hawaii (Kekoa64) seems to have done, without listening to any of the eBay gurus…

InfoMarketer

Most Watched Listing on eBay

That’s right, that long sales letter, seemingly poorly written and photographed listing is the most watched item on eBay. And it is not a fluke. This listing, or one just like it has been at the top of the list for more days than I can count….

Whats the secret?

What is Kekoa64 selling?

Kekoa64 is selling hope and mixing it with humility and topping the whole package off with a bit of information.

$10.00 is not a lot to spend for a chance to make money, right? And if Kekoa64 will share his “secret” with you for $10.00 and back up his claims with a long sales letter in the form of an eBay listing… You might just buy!

With 6600+ feedbacks, I would say this young man may have a point.

The point is… people will always buy information, we always have. We will buy it faster if it is delivered digitally and more of us will find that information if it is advertised on eBay. Is Kekoa64 a recognized author? Does Kekoa64 claim to be an eBay guru?

No… Yet people believe in this person without ever knowing his real name.

What kind of information do you have to sell?

We Won! SEOLogs.com named All Business Auctions blog a Winner!

November 30, 2007 by Scott Pooler · Leave a Comment

Note: Recently we signed up for a service/blogging community called mybloglog. Our official join date was November 12th 2007. MyblogLog is a social networking site for bloggers and it allows like minded bloggers to create groups or communities to see what other bloggers in their niche are doing/writing.

Coincidentally, MyBlogLog was running a contest during the month of November with a significant prize awarded to the blog which gained the most members to it’s community during the month.

While we did not win the overall MyBlogLog contest, we were very encouraged by our community growth in such a short time. From November 12th to November 30th 2007 AllBusinessAuctions.Wordpress.com went from a blog rank in the thousands all the way up to a (contest) rank of 133.  No where near a win or even honorable mention, but to climb within 133 places of long time established blogs with massive communities already in place and while competing against cash prize incentives and email marketing campaigns designed to boost other blogs standings…

We thought our progress was significant – especially when you consider that we did not employ any outside techniques to gain rank. Only honest content.

We won first place in one of the cash prize incentive contests employed to gain rank by SEOlogs.com and we appreciate the recognition , and the cash from the prize listed below…

In our view the climb to blog #133 in the MyBlogLog contest was a significant and gratifying result after only a little over two weeks in the community!

Thank you MyBlogLog.com members!

SEOLogs has announced our blog a winner!

Congratulations to the final 3 winners of our Contest!

Ball Buddies Anyone? Promotional Products Gone Wild!

November 28, 2007 by Scott Pooler · Leave a Comment

No, I am not being rude!

These are Ball Buddies – a trademarked promotional product invented and invested in by a client of ours. Ball Buddies are unique trailer hitch covers which have been pre-set up to accept pad printed promotional advertising. My client (a retired mother) had the vision to make these and bankroll the entire process from trademarking to manufacturing to fulfillment all on her own. She did this because she believed these items would and should sell to Universities, Church Groups, Casinos, Retailers, Hotels, Boat Dealers, RV Dealers or any Promotional marketer. She should have been a little more cautious and possibly she should have done a little more research because in the end she has not been able to sell any of the thousands of units she now has on hand. This client did all of the right things when it comes to inventing, trademarking, UPC coding, brand identification and manufacturing. What she did not do was secure a source to market before spending all of her money on production.

Now she is asking for us to sell her excess inventory on eBay.

I would rather set up a continuing outlet for these products because they are good products and I can see the market for them. Our client is fed up with all of the attorneys and marketing agents and buyers who have all had their hands out along the way, with not one of these “professionals” helping her sell the product. I would rather have set her us an eBay store and an associated website to market her Ball Buddies to the world. Unfortunately her marketing budget is depleted and she cannot afford to move forward with such plans. If we had met this client at the beginning of her journey with Ball Buddies, we may have been able to help her profit a great deal from her ideas and ingenuity. There is actually still a chance…

We have these products listed in our eBay store – All Business Auctions

Maybe we can find a good outlet for our client. Spread the word if you know anyone in the promotional marketplace looking for a unique new item or two… These Ball Buddies are ready to test market and ready for production!

eBay is full of dreams of riches to be had, and this is a case where someone can make some money with the right marketing. Unfortunately for our client unless we can find a buyer who will try the items with the intent of re-ordering on a regular basis…. I really do not see any way for the client to get her investment back.

This is a lesson for anyone who has a great idea…

Remember the Ball Buddies! Ball Buddies Dice

Never invest in production, unless and until you have figured out your marketing!

The Demise of eBay Has Been Grossly Exagerated – Long Live eBay!

November 27, 2007 by Scott Pooler · 2 Comments

ebay

Why do so many journalists and “experts” feel they must report the demise of eBay on a seemingly daily basis?

I can assure you it will be a long long time before eBay goes the way of the Wooley Mammoth!  With more focused searches per day than even google or yahoo (Heck, maybe more than Google and Yahoo Combined), eBay is a long way from extinct.  Sure they are top heavy in management and they have some really poor ideas from time to time, but so do Microsoft and Apple… and those top heavy behemouths do not seem to be as endangered or near extinction as some journalists and technology pundits once thought…

  • Stick with eBay and use it to your business advantage!
  • eBay is a tool, it is advertising, it is a way to market to the world from your small or large storefront or from no store at all!
  • Use eBay in good health, just as 5.4 million unique visitors did on a single day last week!

EBay: Nielsen/NetRatings reports 5.4M unique visitors to eBay on Black Friday

Last Updated: 27-November-2007 16:11:00

NEW YORK (Thomson Financial) – EBay Inc. said it was the most visited e-commerce site on Black Friday with 5.4 million unique visitors, citing information from Nielsen/NetRatings. EBay also said data from PayPal showed a 33% increase in online payment volume on Black Friday from a year earlier.

EBay said its sites, which include Shopping.com and PayPal, saw an increase in Cyber Monday traffic from a year earlier, with Shopping.com reporting a 28% increase. Traffic to merchants over the entire holiday weekend rose 30% year-over-year.

The company said, however, that the busiest shopping day of the season it still to come. EBay expects to see higher activity on Green Monday, the second Monday in December, as revenue and shopper traffic on Green Monday have outpaced Cyber Monday for the past few years.

Shares of eBay were up 3.5% to $32.08. Christie Rizk cr/jw
