All Business Auctions is about to launch a review series of the alternate channels available for eBay sellers. We feel strongly that leaving eBay is not a prudent course of action but keeping ones options open is also an excellent idea. A great deal has changes in the Internet commerce arena since the early days of eBay. It would seem that eBay is no longer the only fast and simple method to get products online for sale. Much has been written about eBay and Amazon so we will not cover those behemoths in this series. Our plan is to start with some of the most interesting options and then move up to Amazon and OverStock Auctions.

Please know that we are not affiliates of Buy It Sell It or any of the other solutions we will try in this series. If we find one we like and continue to use it after our reviews are complete we may become an affiliate... But for now we only should disclose that we do offer eBay affiliate links on this site.

First on our list is Buy it Sell it

Buy it Sell it is an Ink Frog product. Many eBay sellers will be familiar with The Ink Frog eBay listing software solution. Ink Frog offers a flat rate $9.95 a month eBay management package with free hosting for images and template gallery.

Buy it Sell It offers an attractive interface...

And the front page of the offer says a lot... We will try it ourselves and see exactly how and if Buy it Sell it works as advertised.

I think one of the most interesting aspects of this offer is the following paragraph:

BuyItSellIt supports the leading payment processors Google Checkout, Paypal and Authorize.Net. Tired of complicated shipping matrixes? Use our real-time calculated shipping via USPS and FedEx. All product entries are automatically posted to Google Product Search for maximum exposure to your store. Sell on eBay? Easily plug in your eBay store listings directly into your BuyItSellIt store front.

To Sum up the Introduction:

BuyitSellit offers

  • A free and attractive stand alone web store front.
  • eBay import
  • Digital Delivery Options
  • Multiple Web Store Templates
  • An Order Management Console
  • Bulk Upload and Product Management Console
  • Google Checkout and PayPal
  • Rss feeds for each store

If nothing else this is a great way to get up and running with an off eBay website.

The site is great, very easy to use and understand. It is one of the easiest “ecommerce” sites I have seen out there, if not the EASIEST! I have been looking for an ecommerce solution for months to expand my sales and all the others I found were incredibly confusing and hard to configure to my needs (I know webdesign but not that kind). I am not leaving eBay at all, but with their FVF increase (OUCH!) I am glad I found BISI. I put up 42 items last night in just a few hours. Right now I have templates for eBay users only but I am expanding to make all my designs compatible with just about any auction/estore site out there. I don’t link to my eBay store through BISI – there really isn’t a need to. Saves me money in the long run. And that’s what we are all after, saving money to actually make money! Two Thumbs up for ButItSellIt!!

I just wanted to add, if you have a website and use the standard payment solution through PayPal where you have to configure each item individually – STOP! If I had gone this way with my store it would easily take DAYS to list everything I have going back and forth between my site and PayPal. Because BISI offers PayPal as one of their payment processing options, a seller saves a ton of time (and frustration) adding products. AND the fact that they offer Digital Download Service right on the site is a definate PLUS for someone who sells stuff like I do. The price for digital download service is very reasonable ($9.95/month for 2GB) and once again saves the seller valuable time – no more going back and forth with that either. It’s all in ONE PLACE.

As I learn more I will be happy to post more. The only “negative” I have right now is I can’t log into the Community message boards. Probably something I did but I will get in there sometime I am sure. Tomas is pretty quick to answer support questions through my Admin section and on the board.

I never received an activation email. When I went to try to register again it said that my email and store name already existed. I didn’t see any help on the home page so I re-registered with a whole different name just to contact support. It just seems like such a great idea but I guess they still don’t realize that a product is nothing without customer service. Wouldn’t recommend. You might end up putting a lot of hard work into your store and the one time you need help who knows if you’ll get help. I mean if they don’t help you get started imagine when you’ve already populated your page. And the fees, where are they? You know they take a portion when you sell but they don’t make that obvious. Too risky until someone with skills on business etiquette gets hired.

This site may have started out fine, but it’s been fraught with problems. After reading the hype on the ebay stores board, I wanted to try it out, and it’s been a dead horse for the past week.

Constant and chronic time-outs. Unable to list, sell, or buy. Imagine how the buyers feel? Assuming that they can even see your stuff. The site owner is supposed to upload items to google once a seller has 20 listings, however it’s been several days and I’m still waiting.

It’s impossible to sign onto the community discussion boards for any length of time, since it times out as well. Very little support from site owner. Questions are answered mostly by other members if they’re around. Many important questions go unanswered.

I had planned on upgrading to the paid plan, but not anymore. You get what you “pay” for, and sometimes not even that.

Hey you guys need to be fair as I have been with Tomas the operator since day one and yes I have been frustrated too. As you are all complaining about something for free you dont realize is that this site was perfect until the upgraded version which provides alot more resources. Infact I transferred from my $100.00 a month site to Buyitsellit.com and had a few problems with my domain email but now is all ok and all is transferred. So what you all need to know is that give a month or two until this new version that is more powerful and effiecent is working properly as it hasnt been online very long. Tomas is a very hard operator and does answer most of the time for me, everytime. I am no one special but honestly buyitsellit.com is the very best Online Commerce site today for most all small to medium seller. Plus its free. How can you complain about that as it blows away the other free ones. I upgraded so have my own domain and my site is in the working as check it out http://www.fullspectrumorganics.com as I did this myself with no help. Good Day
